There are a range of thriller sub genres in the film industry at the moment such as,
JFK an 1991 American film directed by Oliver Stone,
and Awake an 2007 American film directed by Joby Harold
Disaster thriller: these movies are mainly focused on a particular event which has either occured or will occur, such as floods, earthquakes and tornadoes. Examples of such movies are,
Earthquake an 1974 American film directed by Mark Robson,
and 2012 an american film directed by Roland Emmerich.
Psychological thriller: in which the conflict between the main characters are mainly mental and emotional rather than physical. Examples of such movies are
Psycho an 1960 American film directed by Alfred Hitchcock,
and Phone booth an 2002 American movie directed by Joel Schumacher.
Religious thriller: these films are mostly concertrated on either a particular religion or a group of religions in rivalry between them selves. Examples of such movies are
The Name Of Rose an 1986 film directed by Jean Jacques Annuad,
and The Da Vinci Code an 2006 movie directed by Ron Howard
In all, although i have an interest in all the above thriller sub genre movies, the main thriller sub genre movie that interests me at the moment are legal thrillers: these sub genre movies consist the use of the main character either male or female being an lawyer who confronts either a particular villain or a group of villains, by which they stake their life to prove them guiltyin the courtroom. Examples of such movies are,
A Time To Kill an 1996 American movie directed by Joel Schumacher, which is one of my all time favourites.
and The Client an1994 American film directed by Joel Schumacher
